![]() ![]() There’s a missed opportunity to convey the subtleties of saidar and saidin: display only the power that the characters who are the focus of the scene could see. The audience is the perfect, 3rd person observer here. I think it’s acceptable, but I have a problem with the way they have decided to show the weaves to the audience. For example, some here and on other subs think the choice for weaves is bad. There’s always going to be some flexibility for how you display things. To be clear, I’m not outraged and confused by decisions like removing Baerlon, Caemlyn, or the relationship between Siuan and Moiraine, thought I do think from a pure lore and story-telling perspective, they are extremely problematic decisions.įor a TV show, you need to condense things. From a pure TV Show perspective, it’s average. Watching it twice only confirmed my initial reactions from a story telling perspective. Watching it once led to outrage and disbelief. I’ve now watched the majority of the show twice, and read the series several times.
